Trying to keep up with my Ventura Coutny Photography Business Blog and Site Updates!!!

Well, I'm trying to be smart about my blogging and my wedding portrait Quinceanera photography business. I'm trying to get the search engines to notice my stuff more so than other photographers and/or bloggers. This definitely takes some discipline just like the discipline it takes a professional to do his photography and video event editing or a DJ to compile the music list for his business. We offer all three services to stay competitive, when we don't have Portrait photography we have event photography, when we don't have that, we have executive or corporate photography. When photography is not giving us business we have video editing for all types of events like; basketball, football, soccer, or graduations, quinceaneras, weddings, children's events, local cities events, santa paula's citrus festival, oxnard's strawberry festival, thousand oaks cal lutheran homecoming, etc. etc. We're are definitely excited about the changes that we've experienced but it's all really staying in the public eye and having local support. I'm thankful to be where I am right now and don't have much more time to write about what a great professional photographer, or videographer, or dj I am, that's up to you to decide through my work and your experience as a customer of mine. Thank God for where I am. I will try this photography blog thing again tomorrow and maybe, just maybe, continue to do it and I'll get up in the rankings!!!Isaiah

New logo and Upcoming Wedding in Simi Valley

I've had a great time making my new logo and I think I've completed the process for the new "Wallot's Digital Special Event Services." I'm excited to know what our wedding photography customers are going to think about it. I've got Billy and Allison's wedding coming up on November 8th in Simi Valley at the Elks Lodge. I'm doing their photography for the second time and they are a joy to work for. They are an open and fun couple who looks like they like to have fun so I'm sure their wedding photography will come out great. They do a great job cooperating with the photographer and don't hold back the much needed "picture smile" in order for them to have beautiful wedding photo memories. I'm coming up with new photography poses and I'm also going to be mostly doing the photo journalistic approach to their wedding because things come out much more natural that way. Most people really enjoy their wedding pictures being in that candid look where they aren't aware of someone taking their picture. Business is growing and always has the crazy wedding season spurts and then other times when I'm just doing family portraits but overall, God works it out!!!
Here's my new logo:

Quinceanera a success!!

Everything went well for the quinceanera in Fillmore on July 12, 2008! My cameraman was excellent he got great shots of the quinceanera as I took the pictures before the ceremony began. This is where getting there early comes in handy. They were the strictest place as far as where you can be and they do not allow flash photography during the ceremony but the lady supervising the quinceanera ceremony at St. Francis Catholic church was excellent, stern and serious but I made her smile so that is all that matters! All the images have been completed and I'm finishing up the Video this week as well as ordering a sample album which I know they'll love. We're so affordable, I always think of charging more but it's so fun for me to take professional pictures of different events in ventura county that I feel like were helping, having fun, and you can't beat getting paid too! The reception was at the Olivas Park banquet center wich has been remodeled and is one of the nicest places to be and not too expensive either. We also incorporated the opportunity for these quinceanera clients to purchase their images online which is great for everyone that came out in the quinceanera, chambelanes and damas! They don't always get too see the quinceanera pictures because they come from out of state/town so with the images online this is really a great thing for them and for Wallot's Digital Services too!
I love what I do and I'm thankful for it everyday, I hope to some day employ people who enjoy it and have as much fun as I do. I love talking to people and I don't stress to easily so that always helps, it really takes a lot and I've pretty much dealt with every personality in the books. I'm trying hard but continue to be busy which is somewhat good!! Thanks for your support in Ventura County and don't forget to check out the DVD Duplication services we now offer too!!! We do pick up and delivery too!! So if you have a bunch of VHS tapes that you're ready to throw away or transfer give us a call at 805-368-7023 or visit our DVD transfer/conversion information page, we have great prices!!!

Meeting For Quinceanera Photography and Video in Moorpark

Last night I met with the father, brother in law, aunt, mother, and little sister of one of my prospective clients. This family seems to be really nice and honest and best of all they're in Moorpark! They're literally 5 minutes from my house and they have lots of planning to do for the quinceanera taking place on July 12, 2008 in Fillmore and Ventura, which they're still unsure about because they want to take advantage of the services and take pictures of as many of the family members as possible as some of them are coming from out of state. They are very pleasant and everything went very well with the presentation at their home. I took my laptop and some loose 5x7's and 4x6's as well as a 4x6 photo album with a wedding video sample. I haven't finished my sampling of quinceanera videos but I'm in the process of doing it and they would like to see more so I'm working on that too. They're going to meet with a couple of more photographers and feel things out as they've never planned for a quinceanera before and they are trying to get the most for their money of course just like anyone should. I felt them very comfortable with me and I with them and either way I wish them the best whether they choose to go with Wallot's Digital Services or not. It is always a great experience to do an "at home presentation" because although you're presenting you still learn a lot and get to meet new people. You get invited into the privacy of their home and get to see if they are they type of client you're looking for. Sometimes people tend to not mesh and as a business you sometimes have to notice that before things don't work out. It hardly ever happens but it is important to meet with people to make sure you can fulfill their wishes and make their event the most special. In the end you do all this, to learn, grow, and ultimately, to receive future business or referral. This is a win, win situation because if they're happy and it doesn't turn out well with the photographer or videographer that gets hired, they are most likely to meet with you and book you in the event that something goes wrong with that photographer or videographer before their even or on another occasion! Engagement Photography For Nov. 8th Simi Valley Wedding

This past Tuesday I went to the park located at the back end of the Thousand Oaks Library to shoot the engagement session for two of my newest clients. The back of the library has such a nice layout perfect for wedding photography. I'm not sure how much it costs to rent out for weddings but it sure is beautiful. They have an area setup a little above ground level to have the bride and groom say their vows. This has become one of my favorite places now and I look forward to telling people about it, it also has a small creek with ducks! It's soooo nice. I was fortunate to enjoy my time photographing Billy and Allison and we got some great engagement shots. You should see some of the engagement photos below. I'm also working on new ideas to expand my wedding photography business and am looking into radio advertising with a really cool contact I was referred to. I'm excited today too because I have a meeting about a quinceaƱera that will be taking place July 12th. They are interested in quinceanera photography and video and I have my sample video and pictures ready to go. The other cool thing is that they're in Moorpark, CA only about 5 minutes from my house!!! This one is to take place in St. Francis Catholic Church in Fillmore and I haven't yet done anything there but am very excited to do so. It's funny because just the other day I passed by that church on the way back home from Santa Paula and I thought to myself, as I saw a hummer limo, "I would reeeeeally like to shoot a wedding at that church!" Next thing you know I get an email requesting a quote for quinceanera photography and video and I don't hear back for about a month, then there's the call referring to the email quote I sent............sooooo I'M SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THIS!

Pro Bono Wedding For Oxnard Young Couple May 10, 2008

There was a very nice couple we shot the wedding for in Oxnard, CA off of pleasant valley on Saturday, May 10, 2008. This couple has a nice looking little baby about a year and half and he was very active and just being a kid. I shot this wedding because I was told that they didn't have the funds to afford a photographer and I thought I could do the ceremony and the portraits for FREE!! I love helping people out especially at an event of this importance. I could not imagine getting married and not having a nice picture to look at or an album. They were really good because again, somehow it was really cold in Oxnard at 2pm during the formal wedding photography shoot. I believe we got some beautiful shots and I hope they enjoy their pictures. They're in their early 20's and I wish Manuel and Jennifer a long and joyful marriage full of blessings!!

Wedding Photography, Video, and DJ Services on Demand!!

I'm still so excited about this year. We've had success with family portraits. We did one that just came out beautiful. 4 families with 9 adults and 3 kids. We had a blast in my clients gorgeous backyard, perfect for portraits. It was a little cold that day but lots of fun for everyone. You can view these images by clicking here: Family Portraits-April 2008
A few months ago people weren't doing that much due to the economic slow down we've had with everything increasing except work pay but now things are looking are little better. We were hired to do the event photography for the Grand Opening Of the New River Park development in Oxnard, CA. They had a live band that was excellent, I gotta go back to Mike from Wagner Junker and find out who these guys were! They had delicious food and drinks for everyone who attended! This event was at the end of April and we'll be posting the images pretty soon. Another event we did the photography for was the Ventura Artist Union Gallery recognition night for the artists who's paintings and art was chosen to be at the gallery for the next 6 weeks. This gallery is located right next to the pier in Ventura off of California street from the 101 freeway. I really enjoyed this shoot because the artist are so friendly and polite and their work...............just AWESOME. If any of you get a chance go check it out. I'll be posting these images online also.
